Just looking up some stuff about Torontos grand old Union Station - TopicsExpress

Just looking up some stuff about Torontos grand old Union Station built from 1916-1920 and its associations with America. Of course it is called Union Station because it is a rail hub. Its grand hall is made from stone from Missouri. But what will fascinate folks like John A. Saia and other people who know the importance of the postal system is one persons name etched among Post Office pioneers and a name that you might well recognize even if Postal History is of no interest to you in the least : Remnants of Union Stations mail services can be seen to this day. Notice that one of the names carved into the post office (located over what is now the present GO Bay Concourse) is Franklin, referring to Benjamin Franklin, who was deputy postmaster general for the the British colonies of North America from 1753 to 1774.
