Just moved in to a new condo (again) and the work I have to do to fix this place is so overwhelming. Plus, its a bit of a challenge adjusting to this unfamiliar neighborhood. But two self-realizations gave me a bit of a boost: 1) In the 5 years I have lived in Manila, I have moved EIGHT times. My skinny little frame, apparently, is capable of carrying heavy boxes and moving furniture and could endure all the stress that comes with moving. 2) In the past ten years, I have lived mostly on my own, all over the country and in all sorts of communities (i.e. Catholic dormitory, apartment, boarding house, ancestral home with relatives, villages, condos, etc.) So adaptation is part of my skill set. So yeah, I guess Im one tough cookie. And with that in mind, I should stop whining now and get back to work and transform this big pile of mess into a beautiful home, my new home. :)
