Just my opinion: probable reasons why Sofitel took out UNTV from their channel roster. 1. Aesthetics wise their channel isnt as clear and sharp when airing shows which means gear isnt the best of quality. 2. The lack of advertisements, of course Sofitel is a business and they would want channels that their clients would want, meaning channels that has advertisements to entertain them and its also a win-win profit from the network and hotel. 3. ABS-CBN, GMA, TV5 arent removed simply because they have a good combination of public service, entertainment and ads. Do they still need to spend more on one more channel that only focuses on public service alone? * I just hope that people who posts the hashtags that UNTV is posting, would critically think as well. When media asks people to boycott something it doesnt mean what they are fighting for is logical right away. To even make their sentiments with Sofitel so publicized by social media is a cheap way to gain popularity. Their reason for people to boycott Sofitel is too shallow. And hey there isnt a media law that states all hotels must support all the network. Probably why UNTV cant take any legal action. Media discrimination? Just because a big brand doesnt support you? Your channel is too segmented market wise thats why they had to take your channel out. The media discrimination there is ruining a big brands reputation for the sake of the networks popularity. And to those supporting the boycott, sorry to say but they are as shallow as the network they are supporting.
