Just now. Newark, NJ. Im getting off of 280 at the First Street ramp. Just ahead of me a silver Prius switches lanes to make a left after siting idle at the light in the lane to go straight. A 50-55yo white couple, both pointing their fingers in different directions while talking amongst themselves with their windows up. I take my left turn. They pull up next to me at the next light still pointing and discussing, with nervous and concerned faces. Here I am, black man with the Yankee tilted, My Father cigar in hand, I press to wind my window down, smoke spilling out, I ask the physically shaken man, where do you want to go? He looked initially reluctant to roll his window down; finally he does after a few seconds, I give him directions. He offered a sheepish grin and wave of appreciation. I let him cross lanes in front of me to head to No.6th St on Orange St. to get back on 280E. I laughed to myself, I may have saved him and his wife from the goons. See white guy, some black people are friendly. Lol
