Just off the phone with Greg. Hes at a park that has showers and electric outlets and spending the night. Still on HW 36 and doing about 30 miles per day for the past several days and expects he will keep that pace. -- Its so much easier because the roads get really nice once I got out of Denver ... Id say Colorado had the most dangerous roads for walking. He mentions his feet in the text below. Says he is sleeping with his backpack under his feet to elevate them. The new backpack has been much better: When I stop to rest its so much easier to get back up again! The new sleeping bag is much warmer (too warm currently). The tent repairs have succeeded in keeping the water out. All is good. He does not expect to go into Missouri -- He mentions going from HW 36 to 34 and through Nebraska... The only planned stop is to visit his uncle in Iowa and hopes to be there around the end of the month. Then its straight home. I mentioned that it amazes me to think that hes put that tent up and taken it down several hundred times, has loaded film into his camera a couple of thousand times, etc. Its just life now. Just what I do everyday.
