Just over 6 months ago my dad, Donald Scott Rawlins, passed. I smile often with fond memories of sitting at his knee, soaking in his kind and gentle nature. Dealing with the aftermath has been tiring and difficult at times. Through it all I tried to handle his wishes in a manner befitting the way he lived; with kindness. Demonstrating his kindness in response to anger and petulance was not easy. Especially when I was in the midst of my own shock and grief, coping to come to terms with his sudden absence. A death in the family can bring out the worst in some. I could not have managed to carry out my dads kindhearted wishes without the steadfast support of family and friends. Be good. It feels nice. Being bad; does not.
