Just over a week remains for those who need help paying for heat to submit applications to New York State for the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) regular benefit. Central Hudson also offers a bill credit of up to $23 per month for customers receiving HEAP benefits. Learn more about the HEAP program at otda.ny.gov/programs/heap/program.asp or contact your county’s Department of Social Services office. In addition to the regular benefit, an emergency HEAP benefit becomes available on Jan. 2, 2015.
