Just passing alone information: Happy Holidays Family and Friends, As you know, I am a proud member of the Omicron Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. This is the time of year to be grateful for all that we have and the give back to the community to which we are a part of. Our chapter has many upcoming events that I would like to share with you. All of the proceeds from these events goes back into the community though scholarships and philanthropic donations to those in need in our area. The following are the events that I hope you can support us on through attending yourself or encouraging the youth that you know to participate: ü AKA 107th Birthday Party. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Omega Center. From 8:00pm -1:00am Coco Soul and DJ Quinn will entertain us as we party with a purpose. The cost is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Your donations of hats, gloves, coats, scarves and sweaters for the homeless would be greatly appreciated. If you bring any 5 items, you will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card. ü MLK Jr. Day of Service Workshop and Program. January 19, 2015. The Foundations of Money Management Workshop will include information on filling out a FASFA form, estate planning and improving your credit score. It will take place at Centenary Church on Olive at 12:30pm. The program will follow at 3:30pm where Reverend Traci D. Blackmon, pastor of Christ the King Church and Ferguson Commission member will be our Keynote Speaker. ü The Black College Road Show will take place March 16-20, 2015 Schools to visit: Tennessee State University, Alcorn State, Alabama State University, Tuskegee University, Jackson State University, Fisk University ü Little Miss Fashionetta June 2015 (Please see the flyer for more details) Parent Meeting on Jan 3, 2015 at 2:15pm at the University City Library.
