Just pondering a few thoughts... I think of the phrase in the book - TopicsExpress

Just pondering a few thoughts... I think of the phrase in the book of Job, Pity the man! I dont know why I have on my mind right now a scene from a few years back but here goes. I was making some hospital visits some years ago and when entering a room of a church member I recognized a man whose father was what Id call an Old Timey Baptist preacher. After speaking with the patient/church member I directed my comments to the preachers son, his dad of course had been in Heaven several years by then. I reminisced with the gentleman as to hearing his father when a boy a number of times and though I surely couldnt remember much about the few messages Id heard when a boy I mentioned the conviction his father had preached with so many years ago. It really seemed to embarrass the man... Ive thought about that scene over and again as time has crept along. I love preachers. Of course I are one! I love all kind of preachers! Evidently the man thought his father lacked culture, intelligence, a contemporary mindset or something of the sort. Ive listened over the years to many testify as to how God used the old country preacher to bring them to Calvary and even those who knew The Lord were brought back into fellowship with Him because of the praying, faithfulness and preaching of his father. Heres whats on my mind as I ponder the trends, fads, tendencies of todays society. I say Pity the man who doesnt realize the Hand of God upon an individuals life! Why? Well, because while so many run to and fro (which by the way satan is busy doing) there are faithful men of God who have given themselves to be a watchman of Gods flock. Many of them arent blessed with a lot of this worlds goods but they do have meat to eat that few know anything about. Im grateful for Gods faithful preacher, wherever he serves, whatever color his skin, or his location. It really doesnt matter to me if hes on the mission field, his own home field, in evangelism or has had to leave his post because health will not permit him to serve as he once did. I salute you! I salute and honor you for standing between heaven and hell and proclaiming the good news of the glorious Gospel of our Blessed Lord! I salute you for keeping the light on so someone whos gone astray may find their way back home! I salute you for those times when slandered and ridiculed you stood firm! I salute you for being a soldier of the Cross! I know our message is rejected on the grand scene of society but Im grateful Ive bumped into some of Gods choice servants along the way! What an honor!! So much I could say but may I say I salute you for being the man of God! Need I say more!! A man of God, Gods man! The servant of The Lord! Dont pity the man whose faith and hope is in Christ! Pity the man who doesnt know Christ!!!
