Just pondering on the subject of art vs craft ...Im writing a little blog post about it. I was thinking about the boundaries...where they are ...if there are any? I know that people like to categorise things and there seems like people views differ depending on the medium. For example...it appears that using paint is more readily accepted as art as opposed to using textiles. ..or is it down to the way you present it...the subject matter etc? I was thinking of people I consider to be artist, who work with textiles and sculpture...like Mister Finch, Annie Montgomerie Artist, , Manomine, What Has She Done Now? to name a few.. and wondering how thy feel they are perceived. Does it need to have meaning to be considered art..? I did not study art at college or Uni so I realise I am very naive when it comes to these kind of subjects. Maybe it doesnt matter at all...maybe I think too much!! Id really be interested in your views...if youve got a minute..and welcome the distraction! Thanks, Lisa ....the confused bird :)
