Just priced up the parts from the Moss catalogue to build a Midget. Plan was to buy a Midget as cheap as possible then convert it to telescopic suspension all round, 4 and 2 pot discs, 5 speed box (Ford type 9) and all the other bits that go with that lot. Then lightened flywheel, stage 3 head, new pistons and rings and duplex chain etc. Without the head, pistons and chain it comes to close to £10,000 so I think Ill forget that. Ill do all the work and could cut costs by polishing and porting the head and fitting the oversize valves with steel seats but itll still come to close to £10,000 by the time Im finished. I know Ill save some money by sourcing parts, like a box elsewhere but it looks like its still too much money. I reckon it would sell for £10,000, may be £12,000 so with the other parts to add in and the sundry bits and pieces Ill need it will cost more than it will sell for.
