Just ran across this when going through a box at my in-laws house... Before there was Expert Video Empire, there was Bluestone Digital. This was my first logo printed on August 15th, 1995 I started recording bands in 1990, then did a little video work. Video was either primitive or extremely expensive back then. I was always into capturing memories, documenting stories, honoring peoples lives through reselling them. I had the opportunity to capture my grandparents telling their stories about living on a ranch on both sides of the Mexican border, how his great grandfather dealt with Pancho Villa, how my grandmother grew up in a mining town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and hard work. I was able to record my great uncles experience in the frozen tundra land battle with Japan in the Aleutian islands in Alaska during WWII, how he was shipped over to Europe as a cryptographer and set up communications across enemy lines. These people in my mind were giants. They lived lifetimes in their experiences. They were heroic. And without them being captured, their story would have been lost. I loved every minute of capturing their stories for the first time in some cases ever recorded. It allowed me to better understand who I was by learning about each of them. My lifes work is to capture and communicate messages worthy of the world to hear. And it all stared with my mother allowing me to play with an old box tape recorder when I was 5 years old.
