Just read a heartbreaking post by a person I admire. He is going through a divorce. The heartbreaking part was not the divorce itself (tho I certainly hate to see it) but the heart ache was in the heartless, cruel, judgemental comments others felt the liberty to post - casting blame, revoking friendships, and accusations of him deserving such treatment all supposedly backed up by the Word of God. My heart hurts. What is in us that we feel we have a right to throw around scriptures in such a way as to annihilate the hope of another believer. Gods Word is ordained to correct and rebuke.. Not to punish and condemn. I am saddened. I feel sorry for this man, his family, and his future... Because he will continue to face this treatment even as he walks out healing.. And that is just plain unloving and unloving means unChristlike and that makes us not His followers. Shame on them.
