Just read an article about 8 potentially good replacements for David Letterman, who has decided to retire next year (unless they offer him a Brinks truck full of money and he changes his mind). Though, its possible that this could be a network move in an attempt to challenge his new rival, the young, talented and endearing Jimmy Fallon. Anyway, If you havent seen the article they are: Craig Ferguson, Jon Stewart, Chelsea Handler, Amy Schumer, Chris Rock, Conan OBrien, Ellen Degeneres and Neil Patrick Harris - - Heres my take in a nutshell Craig Ferguson - My top pick! Love him, but never get to watch him because Fallon (and now Meyers) shared/share the same time slot. Craig also deserves a big budget and band! Jon Stewart - Already got a lucrative gig that is sort of niche - I think his fans would be upset if he left that show Chelsea Handler - A little too sarcastic for me, like her stand up, though Amy Schumer - Cute, smart and really funny, but... a good interviewer? Not so sure Chris Rock - Would upstage everybody (would be hilarious, though). Having said that, I thought he interviewed his guests pretty well on the Chris Rock Show. That would be good to bring back. (Chappelle, too) Conan OBrien - Itd be risky... cable may not be as good as network tv, but its a solid gig. I also like that they replay the show later where there less competition. Ellen Degeneres - Shed be crazy to leave her spot in daytime, where its a perfect fit for her. Her fans would be upset, too. Neil Patrick Harris - I think they just threw him in for fun. Personally, I think hes best as an actor Id throw in Greg Kinnear! He would be up there with Ferguson, for me. Ive enjoyed him from his late-night show to Talk Soup! Who do you guys like for the gig?
