Just read an article about a Shoah Foundation benefit (and if you dont know what this project is, check my earlier posts). Springsteen, Streisand, Jerry Seinfeld, Conan OBrien, Liam Neeson, Clooney, Jon Stewart - a bevy of stars and wealthy people, and the President of the United States all attended. Its a benefit for a good cause. The nasty comments after the post were shocking, not in their nastiness; weve all heard that before. Those were the ONLY comments - and this is what I find troubling. Where are the voices loudly denouncing the hate? Having an opinion is fine, but to spew such hate only pollutes the world for all of us, no matter what your politics or point of view. And to not stand up to such hate is cowardly. The Shoah Foundation, of all the foundations in the world, is a testament to what happens when good people keep their mouths shut against such hate.
