Just read an article about how thermal solar power plants are a danger to birds and butterflies. Please note that this is Thermal Solar Power and not PV Solar Power (the later being the common roof-top solar panels type, I believe). That said, what becomes undeniable to me from reading the article is that with 7.3 billion humans on the earth, we cannot help but disrupt other species however we choose to meet our needs. Solar is far, far better than fossil fuels in my opinion, but the real solution to restoring balance to our ecosystem is to stop the exponential growth of our population. That is best accomplished by voluntary birth control. It makes sense on a family level as well. As resources become more depleted (and thus more expensive), we can better provide for our childrens needs if we have fewer of them. This is why our Supreme Court, in its ultimate wisdom, is protecting an individuals right to use birth control . . . oh wait . . . Shit!
