Just read perhaps the most maddening comment of all time. A lot of press recently for game reviewer Alanah Pearce, who decided to counter messages to her threatening rape and calling her the C-word by contacting the mothers of the boys sending her such messages. I thought her response was well thought out and likely very, very effective. I just made the mistake of reading the comments section underneath an article talking about it. I dont get angry easily but right now Id easily cause serious damage to another person for what I read. The commenter trashed Ms. Pearce for her actions, stating that such remarks just come with being a games reviewer and that she just needed to accept that and suggesting that she should ignore them. Another made her into the heel for getting the kids in trouble with their mothers for making a rape joke Unreal. Rape is not a joking matter. There is nothing funny about that. Period. Nor is there anything funny or excusable with the other words used by these kids. To say that she should accept unacceptable statements is stupid. I applaud Ms. Pearce for her methods in teaching these people a lesson. This is a subject that I feel strongly about. If anyone feels the need to disagree with me on this, you can try, but itd probably be better for you to slip out the door. No need to leave me a note.
