Just read this it will explain itself ... (Part 2) Two days had past and admittedly, short of discussing it with my wife and pastor, I had barely given another thought to the drunk man or the strangers living in the motel he told me about on Friday. Then Sunday I got a call from the friend who was to take our running group out that afternoon; he had some conflicts and would I be willing to take the group out on their run that day for him? I reluctantly agreed. We met at the church did our study book said a prayer and headed out, going east along the Erie Canal Towpath Trail as we often did. On the way out on our run I noticed a young man with a child carrier on his back fishing while two other small children contentedly played safely away from the waters edge on the pathway drawing in the stones with twigs. It was easily one of the most peaceful scenes Id ever witnessed, I cant help but see Psalm 23; 2-3 (... he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his names sake.) when I reflect back on the scene. I truly felt as though I had just run through a Norman Rockwell painting, and I wasnt the only one. When the small group of runners and myself returned down the path they were still there, upon arriving back at church, I overheard two of our runners talking between themselves about what an adorably beautiful scene that was, with the man and children, again, I didnt give it another thought... until about ten minutes later. That was when I was alone. The other runners had left, I locked up the building and I was getting in my truck, just about to leave when I saw him. The man with the three children walking across the front of the church, at this point my curiosity was peaked. I waited to see where they would go next. Then God got my attention. They walked right past the parking lot I was in, heading south... towards the motel. I instantly knew what was going on I felt like God flicked me in the head so to speak; I didnt want him to put me in the position I sensed him leading me to. Dont get me wrong, I want to serve him in all things... all things Im comfortable with... but even at that point two years ago after having been led by him before, I knew God has no interest in my comfort zone, only in his will. I started my truck, left the church, drove past the man headed south towards the motel, where was this going? I couldnt have predicted or imagined it myself. Again; if you liked where this is going and want to read more of this story, like it and Ill be sure to post more of it. Please share it to if you feel so led. I truly feel God wants some of you reading this to be a part of this too. If you are tagged, you are either wittingly or un-wittingly a part of this, thats how God works. We rarely know the extent of our involvement in His will, so why not choose to be a willing participant?
