Just realized that after our visits yesterday with our sick ones I did not post an update. Tre was sleeping when we got to the hospital yesterday morning but woke up and told us he was feeling okay. He enjoyed our KDMC party in his room. Later I talked with Amy who told me they are keeping in KDMC through the weekend and will be moving him by ambulance back to promise which is a specialty hospital in Vicksburg on Monday. He possibly will be a patient there for 3-4 weeks. Planning on taking him a bowl of his Dads homemade soup today....Linda had her eyes open but did not show any recognition of who I am. :( She is running some fever again and her heart rate is also elevated again. She did take a couple of bites of mashed potatoes, a couple of bites of applesauce but then got choked. She is not eating much, just unable to swallow it without choking. Please keep praying for her....We also had a wonderful visit with Uncle Sherman and Aunt Elaine. (Mothers last remaining sibling.) They had a good Christmas with their family also though that black cloud of losing our precious Mama was hanging over their family too. We are a close family so everyone is affected....A note to many of you that will make you smile. Our granddaughter, Melanie tried her hand at Mamo Lairds red velvet cake and she did a terrific job. Got a call this morning from someone who had her make one for their families Christmas celebration, telling me that it was wonderful, moist and just the right color. She said she believes that Mama had her hand on Melanies as she made this cake. She made us one too and it was wonderful. So now the talent has been passed. If anyone is interested in a red velvet cake like Mama always made, just give me a call! :)
