Just received notice from U.S. Coast Guard that I have been found in violation of 46 USC 2302(a) Operating a recreational vessel in a negligent manner, with finding that I "intentionally maneuvered and anchored your vessel to obstruct the 645 ft cargo vessel ENERGY ENTERPRISE from mooring to the dock at Brayton Point power plant. By doing so, you placed your crew member, yourself and your vessel at considerable risk." Jay was not cited. The Coast Guard has determined that "justice will be best served by issuing a warning rather than pursuing a monetary civil penalty" of $5,000 and the earlier Captain of the Port fine of $40,000 has been withdrawn.
