Just received the gift of a life time from a dear friend. I managed back in 1976 to borrow a 1975 250 Bultaco astro from a friend Don Logan D6 am # 575 and won the 250 am class at Newberry town that day ( the photo is of me and my friend/ 1/2 brother #196 Richie Doyle during afternoon Practice with Dons astro. He lent it to me and sat the race out , saying his bike was slow and it was all he could do to lend it to me. saying it was slow was ridiculous, it was faster than my own with a bad clutch , and pulled off the win by quite a bit that day, Don said he had never seen his bike go that fast , the next week he garnered a 5th place , his best finish ever in 250am, also found out he bought the astro from Gary Deel :), well ladies and gents , Dons widow , Sandra Logan , called me today and gave me that very bike , it was pulled from Dons garage with a collapsed roof for many years as it shows still sporting my fathers shops sticker ( Penndel Motor Parts), and quite a bit of vines and under growth about , but here she is now in my garage , and I shall attempt to bring her back to her former glory , please wish me luck :) I should I have to also mention in an adjoining shed I saw my 1974 Suzuki TM 100 from my testing days with Iyvand Boysen :) Sandra also went up to her attic and dug out my old set of orange leathers and gave them back as well :) life is coming full circle :)
