Just received this information via email. We thought everyone would want to know that around 1-1:30pm today a security guard was stabbed in the TJ Maxx store at Eastgate Shopping Center. We walked in as the ambulance and more police cars were showing up. There was blood on the floor by the door and through the store to the back. Apparently, the guard caught a man shoplifting and escorted him to the back office. The suspect then got a pair of scissors and stabbed the guard in the head and probably a few more places. The employees at the store thought that the suspect was injured too and thats where all the blood came from as he was running out of the store. The suspect also had a woman and a boy around 8 years old that ran out with him. As they were leaving they stole 3 purses and left in a tan car. Very scary.
