Just recently, dreamt that I was part of a praise and worship - TopicsExpress

Just recently, dreamt that I was part of a praise and worship practice. The leader asked me to open in prayer. Gods anointing was very much present, as I began praying with quiet humility. However, as I did many others started to shout out their prayers...as if the louder they were, that made them more spiritual than others. Showy prayers obviously grieve our Lords heart! In the dream, Gods Holy Spirit came upon me powerfully with righteous anger! I shouted louder than the rest of the people, rebuking them for operating in a competitive spirit and in vainglory! After I did that, there was complete silence with a keen awareness of our Lords weighty Presence! Though this dreams message applies to other ministries, I awoke knowing God was targeting the rivalry between praise and worship teams. Some seem to focus more on outperforming the other, rather than on Christ and helping to bring His People into His Peaceful, Powerful Presence! They seek the glory of man, instead of through heartfelt songs to glorify Jesus, Lord of lords and King of kings! Matthew 6:5-8 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask Him. Philippians 2:1-5 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Matthew 11:29-30 Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. Psalm 133:1-3 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aarons beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; as the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. Ephesians 4:1-3 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
