Just reflecting on the wildest, most exciting, most beautiful 72 hours of our lives. Everyones comments and calls and texts and wishes of love and prayers. Please know that even if we havent responded directly that we have seen them and we thank you. Things have just been a little hectic as you can well imagine. We love you guys and we appreciate your encouragement and your prayers on this unbelievable journey we took to claim our angel from heaven. And can I give a serious ultra shout out to my amazing wife, Michelle Menendez-Smith for a second please? You see, we didnt just have a baby the old-fashioned way. We had trouble conceiving so my wife underwent painful IVF procedures and then had to endure DAILY injections with a needle so big that it scared me. Then, when we had a glimmer of hope, we had a setback and she had to start all over again with the injections and probing and waking up at 6am to drive to their clinic to get blood drawn three times a week and medication that made her body sick. All for the chance to accomplish what she did yesterday. I watched her writhe in pain but power through to deliver the most beautiful, healthy little girl any man could ever hope to call his daughter and its ALL because of the dedication and sacrifice and agony of my unbelievable wife. Michelle Menendez-Smith, I was in awe of you and in love with you before and now Im just floored. You are truly the best. With that said, we have finally....FINALLY...decided on a name for our little miracle.
