Just returned from a peaceful camping trip at Lake Winfield Scott in Suches, Ga. Temperatures in the 70s to low 80s in the day and low 60s at night. No service...no cell phones, no computers...just warm campfires, good food, great company, and lots of roasted marshmallows. Photographed the famous Fungi of North Georgia. Hiked 7+ miles on the Slaughter Creek Trail near the AT. Kayaked and swam in some really refreshing , not cold, water. Fishing was not a big success but many worms died trying. I am planning the next trip to include staying at Winfield Scott- base camp- and hiking up the trails to Blood Mountain and back. I cant do the long backpacking , but I think I can hang with the overnight kind! Toni LaChine - you and Guy should come along. Lydia Crosby and I would love to do it again.
