Just returned from an enchanting 18 day trip to South America. I visited Rio De Janeiro, Brazil to see the Christ the Redeemer statue and enjoy the stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean from the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain. Then to Argentina to bask in the magnificent marvel of Nature - the Iguassu Falls. Next we visited the beautiful city of Lima, Peru, a fascinating mix of ancient pyramids existing within a modern day city. Another flight took us to the city of Cusco, nestled high in the Andes Mountains at the mind/blowing height of 11,000 feet above sea level. From there we took a serene train ride through the mountains and rivers to the magical mountain of Machu Pichhu, where we visited the ancient mystical city of the Incas hidden high on the mountain top. Next stop was the remote Easter Island, Chile, six hours flight out in the Pacific Ocean. There we encountered the ancient traditions of the Rapa Nui who built huge statues in tribute to their ancestors, and believed that the spirits of the ancestors possessed these statues and protected them. It was truly amazing seeing The glory and grandeur of Mother Earth, and reflecting on the greatness of so many ancient traditions. After 15 more hours of flying, we are finally back home, enjoying the most divine company of our dear girls whom we missed so much.
