Just returned home from about an hour and a half outside. The police are trying to clear Istiklal and are gassing the people. Still, there are many around Odakule... there is police close to Tunel and on Galatasaray Sq. The people are not leaving, the more gas the police deploy the more angry and insistent they are. We collected to IMMENSE cannisters, they are metal and there is NO INDICATION on what they contain!!!!!! We had to take refuge in buildings. Managed to shoot some pics. Have never seen my immediate neighbourhood or Pera like this..
