Just returning from a great retreat up in the mountains with a good group of men...yes, I prefer the word retreat. I am always humbled by these times for they remind me that most men truly love their wives and children/grandchildren and desperately want to provide and care for them, and that most men have more silent scars in their lives that you can imagine, and that most men live under a crushing sense of not measuring up/ever being enough whether it be in the home or workplace, and that most men are quite willing to to share deep things and accompany that with tears if they feel the room is safe from shame, and that most men dont want to be the hero of the story but they long for someone, just one someone to be proud of them and tell em so (and this someone needs to be flesh and bone, not spirit). Thanks, Vance, for leading such a good time.
