Just saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier and holy freaking heck. It was incredible. A surprisingly smart discussion of Americas identity crisis in the modern era told through a series of remarkable action sequences. A HUGE cast of beloved Marvel characters, as well as a few less publicly known (Winter Soldier, Falcon), that are introduced into the Avengers-verse movie series incredibly well. To my personal bias, Im ridiculously happy that Scarlet Johansson was correct: This is less a pure Capn movie and more a duo with Americas hero and the Worlds Greatest Spy. Between the well represented and diverse cast of characters, the topics the movie introduces for general discussion, and its role in the entire Avengers series, I dont know what to freak out about first. ... I think Ill go with the glow of the glorious fight scenes and the beautiful blending of Steves bravery with Natashas intellect. Beautiful. Beautifully done.
