Just saw Noah last night. Mixed feelings. I will say they did - TopicsExpress

Just saw Noah last night. Mixed feelings. I will say they did get the names right and there was an Ark, and it did land on Mt. Ararat. Other than that, Noah turns out to be an environmentalist on steroids to the extent he plans the genocide of the human race because Ham and Japheth do not have wives (even though Genesis 7:7 and 7:13 says all three sons have wives) and Noah wants no more humans so that creation can thrive without their interference even though God has future human accountability in view because in Genesis God promises NEVER to judge the world AGAIN by water, indicating God has other future means of human judgment and accountability. At the end of the film we see Gods rainbow and that is the expressed covenant that God will never again destroy the earth by water. At the end of the film, Noah does get it because he himself reiterates the original cultural mandate (raison detre) of Genesis 1:28-29 to replenish and develop rather than exploit and dominate expressed by the Cain-like marauder stowaway terrorist hiding in the Ark planning to hijack the Ark and Noahs family and hijack Gods purposes as well for the earth. In addition, the unbelieving populace seems to be preoccupied with a hostile takeover of the Ark as if they fully believe in Noahs reasons for building it, i.e. the floods coming. The flavor of the biblical text is that the attitude of the human population toward Noah and his mission is one of total indifference and even jeering at the idea somewhat like the attitude expressed in 2 Peter 3:3-5 and as Jesus expressed in Matthew 24:36-38 in it was in the days of Noah. Would I recommend others see this movie? Yes, I would. With Pauls recommendation (Philppians 1:18) I say whether accurately or the Gospel according to Hollywood, Gods message is proclaimed, I will therefore rejoice! See Noah then go watch Son of God to see how everything turns out. :)
