Just saw a video that makes me reflect. I dont like excessive physical discipline of children. I think it is cruel. Im not perfect but I try many different forms of discipline with my daughter. I rarely hit but when I do its mostly out of anger so I know its still wrong. If your childs behaviour is SO bad that you feel enough anger to hit them with your hand or an object REPEATEDLY and with brute force then more likely than not you failed that child a long long time ago. Parenting is a job, sometimes a thankless one but one we signed ourselves up for. Dont put so much energy into other jobs and forget the most important one. Be observant of your children. Their friends. Their attitudes. Their reactions. Be vigilant. Read about parenting (I even do a parenting Bible Plan on my Bible App). When you raise a child correctly from young and steer them away from harm you prevent yourself from becoming another abusive parent. Child abuse is ugly. And theres a very very thin line between corporal punishment and abuse. Sometimes lashes are easier than consistent and firm discipline but remember its Your job. Do it right now and reap the rewards later.
