Just saw another bashing Roma Downey and her husband Mark Burnett by some very judgmental Christians. These people really deeply sadden me. I have come across judgmental things said about the TV series when it was out by mostly (actually as far as I saw it was only a few Christians that bashed it) some Christians, though most everyone had good things to say. I have the DVDs of it and was very impressed by their work. I look very forward to seeing this movie. I have heard quite a few interviews done by Roma Downey Burnett and her husband Mark Burnett and they do not shy away from speaking of their personal commitment to and love for Jesus Christ. I heard an interview of Mark yesterday on a radio station and was impressed with him. It was NOT a Christian station, it was a national talk radio show. He was asked if they were proselytizing with this movie coming out today. He said, If your are asking if we are hoping people read their Bibles more and those who dont know Jesus come to accept Him as Savior... then yes absolutely! :) He did not shy away but spoke kindly and openly. I was so impressed with him and have been also of Romas interviews that I have seen with she and with both of them. It is clear to me they have a heart for Christ. How wonderful that they are using their notoriety to promote God and His Word even though just as they did to Jesus, some self-righteous judgmental types will find fault. Yet those same people will go out and watch R rated movies with anything but a family much less a spiritual message. Back to work but just had to say, I am impressed with them and thankful for their commitment and openness to take stands for their & my/our Savior Jesus The Christ. I am looking forward to seeing this movie and hope it takes first place in the Theaters, just as the TV series did even being broadcasted on a cable channel.
