Just saw this post last night -- The Kitchen BMX & Skatepark is in trouble and Brett Banasiewicz has started a Go Fund Me page to help save his park out in the mid west. The story hits us in the gut hard when he says: Summers in the mid-west are financially difficult for indoor skatepark owners. Most riders will enjoy the outdoor temps while they can. This leaves indoor parks with minimal attendance. The lack of cash flow in summer months severely affects the ability to keep the facility up and running year round. With winter knocking on the door we reach out to you, the public, local community and all Bretts supporters over the years. Burlington Bike & Action Sports Complex was empty this summer and without year round support indoor parks cant survive. We (as well as The Kitchen, Im sure) have a lot of overhead and when your visitors only come 6 months out of the year and abandon indoor riding the other half the year it makes it virtually impossible to create a long term park that can survive the operational costs. If everyone who rides all winter committed to coming at least 1x per month in the summer, thatd be a great show of support to make sure we get to stay here for you for a long time to come. BEST OF LUCK TO BRETT & THE KITCHEN! Brett has one hell of a park out in Indiana and we hope they can weather through (ha!) and keep on having fun out there. gofundme/savethekitchen
