If your intention was to have a public outcry, it has worked. Well done. My name is Sarah Hemingway, and when I saw the article on facebook, I could not believe what I was reading. I immediately wanted to do something, so firstly I shared as much as I could and went onto the Iceland page to also give my thoughts as to how ridiculous these charges were. I was in bed at the time, as it was early hours of this morning, but I could not sleep. I got up and went downstairs to my laptop and created a petition on the 38 Degrees site, this was directed at Malcolm Walker Ceo of Iceland asking him to drop all charges. https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/asking-iceland-to-drop-charges-of-the-hungry-three?source=facebook-share-button&time=1390965856 I named the three guys in the petition The Hungry Three as I didnt know all their names and didnt just want to name the one known guy as being more important as the rest, and wanted it to be more eye catching like other news stories in the past such as The Birmingham six etc. public would pay attention. The reason I am involved with this and feel so strongly is there are so many homeless out there, and this government whether you believe it or not, are responsible for so much austerity it makes my blood boil when I see others suffer because of it. I am a campaigner for lots of issues in this country...so many I cant keep up with myself lol. Including a recent one The gagging law as Im sure you are aware of. Although we lost in that case, I shall never give up the fight to let the public and campaigners to have their say. When I woke this morning I was amazed at just how much my petition has been shared and I would be grateful if you could perhaps place an article in your paper, to counteract the prosecutions explanation saying its in the publics interest to prosecute When clearly it is not I also noticed Mr Walker trying to defend the amount of waste they produce, when in actual fact, we want him to to defend the Hungry Three (Typical) If you would like any more information regarding this article, I will be happy to comment.
