Just sent this to Polaris corporate and their PR firm, and got an immediate response. I do do PR well... Now if only my PR firm could get me 10% of the press I get on my own... I wanted to send you a quick update about my Slingshot. Were down to the wire before CES, but things are coming together very nicely. As of late last night, my Slingshot is finally wrapped! I went with a very sleek matte black for most of it, with carbon fiber for the accents. The Pocket Man logo has been added in a highly reflective white, and it looks fantastic. A few more touches are going on today, but this is very close to final. I couldnt be happier, and the description from everyone who sees it seems to be thats badass by consensus. Heres some links to some of the pictures on Facebook and the Sling Shot Forum: https://facebook/sevscottjordan/posts/10203117691370043 slingshotforums/threads/carbon-fiber-and-matte-black-wrap-is-done-pocket-man-is-born.2321/ I will be rejoining the Slingshot in Las Vegas for CES, but later this week I have someone driving it down from Sun Valley dressed like a pocketier version of the Stig from Top Gear. Well be getting some amazing time lapse footage of the ride to Vegas, so please let me know if you are interested in seeing it. Well upload, tag it and send you links. Id also like to remind you to feel free to use me and the Slingshot as a tool for you to use in Vegas while Im there. I should be getting some great coverage at Tech Crunch on Sunday, and will bring as much attention as theyll let me bring to the Slingshot. I have a variety of media interviews already lined up (related to Pocket Man and SCOTTeVEST), but much of my time is pretty flexible. Do you have any press events lined up? Do you know if the Polaris dealer in Vegas is doing anything? If you need a vehicle to show off, as far as I know, mine will be the only Slingshot not locked in a convention center for the week. I would be happy to let your team demo my vehicle, or show it off as an owner. Ill be staying at Caesars, and my cell is 208-720-6085. Please share that and my email (pocketman@scottevest) with your team if any opportunities pop up. Im happy to make my vehicle available with our without me if you need it. I am also looking into doing a video/photo shoot in the desert. I have one contact with a drone, but do you have any contacts that you use for photography/video that might be at CES? I am not looking to do something as polished as your main product videos, but some action-oriented footage would be great. The Slingshot will be mounted with cameras for some interviews I will be doing while driving around (microphones in helmets and everything...) but some perspective shots would be great. Know anyone good? I have arranged for a bit of a contest with one of the most influential tech bloggers in the world, Robert Scoble , google him if you dont know him. Basically, Im hanging out with him and other VIPs in Vegas at CES, then after LA driving to SF for his 50th birthday party. As a present to him, I am going to leave the SS with him for a few weeks to drive around. You will get tremendous PR value from this, as will my company. So, he is going to write about it and encourage his MILLIONS of followers to help him PIMP my Polaris with all kinds of cook technology, e.g. cameras, LED lights, sound, computers, etc. Based upon the feedback he receives, I will engage a shop in SF to do the work, then pick it up and drive it around to various events, ending up in SXSW before heading home. Im really looking forward to CES and touring around in my Slingshot. Ive been running my own business for a long time, but this is one of the coolest things Ive ever planned. Let me know if you want to get on the phone on Friday to discuss how we can work together further, or just play it by ear. Remember Im meeting John Biggs and the TechCrunch team in the desert on Sunday.
