Just sent this to my representative Fred Keller, HB76 Last night while discussing spring projects with my husband I was told once again that I could not have a new horse shelter in my pasture because it would raise our taxes. Every time we do any home improvements, what we do, is determined by how much it will raise our taxes. When we eliminate property taxes it helps the local economy by putting contractors to work doing home improvements. Not to mention the pool installers, service folks like electricians and plumbers. The trickle down from that is local stores see the money spent in the community. Landlords would be inclined to put in back yard sheds, fences and maybe even covered parking for tenants. And this in on top of the benefit of folks being able to keep their homes when they fall on bad times. The community is better and everyone is paying their fair share instead of just the home owner carrying the burden. A prettier, happier community leads to a good home and happy voters.
