Just sharing- my son is totally happy to get even one shirt this Christmas- thats the best Christmas present that I ever could have asked for- Ive been feeling kind of bad about this Christmas lately. Christmas- well- its easy to try to make that wonderful for Hunter, thanks largely to the Whitlam government of Australia, plus the Lutherans for giving me low income housing. I have enough money to try to make my son happy at Christmas. The much trickier part is trying to make him happy by what I can give him in terms of consistent emotional support, sufficient understanding and consistent love on a daily basis. Giving a child everything that they need emotionally can be much more tricky than even knowing them well enough to buy them the perfect presents. His present to me was perfect this year, though- he recounted the things that he already has to be grateful for this Christmas, and he said that having me was good enough for him. We might fight, but I feel like the luckiest mom in the developed world at the moment.
