Just sharing happy FIV fun :) Many of you met Earl at the Home for the Holidays adoption event last month – a BIG boy, mellow and just a total couch potato, just wanting a home… and because of his FIV+ status, he didn’t get to go home… until now! Janis, who rescued this boy from a large colony of unaltered but mostly social cats, was able to work with MEOW Cat Rescue to get Earl into their adoption center – and the staff fell in love with him right away. It didn’t take long for his adopter to fall in love too! It’s a whole new year, and a whole new life for this boy. Our thanks for the humans who look beyond the labels to see the cat – and who look beyond the labels to see all of us. As you go through life, do keep this in mind – labels are just words. While yes, a cat who is FIV+ MAY have problems because of it – he may not, too. And a cat who ISN’T FIV+ may have many problems - because that’s life. There are no guarantees, and we suggest you adopt your next pet (or human child!) based on wanting to share your home and your love, not on an expectation of anything more than the joy of the moment. Appreciate who and what you have today, that’s all any of us have. Right, Earl? :)
