Just sitting here reflecting on the 21 years I have been back in Concord. I have had some amazing times and not so amazing....but each one has molded my life and future in some way. There are the Poseys, that were such a huge part of my life in my first years back, helping me with my boys, being like family to me. That taught me that no matter what, if you stick together, you can make it through anything! I have my old Hardees family. Some of them are still some of the best friends I have ever had! My Pass and Seymour family, who I could be crazy with in any situation. And we were crazy, Jo Knight! My CMC Northeast family, who I spent the largest amount of time with, some I love very much, some are iffy(lol), but we are still family and always will be. Some of you have touched my life in ways that can never be explained. Im not naming anyone, so I dont leave anyone out. But you know who you are. We loved, played, fought for 13 years, but just like any family, when it came down to it, we had each others backs! There is my beautiful hispanic family.....you ladies (and men) taught me so much of your culture that I have come to love, especially the food!!! Last, my Zumba family, Jennifer ZumbaFreak El-Abbadi, Maria Pahang, Jill Moser Rary, Angela Artz, Charlene Roof, Becca Russell, Robin-Scotty Furr, Bianca MixnVixen Baumann, Atalie McKay Balentine, anyone I may have missed. You ladies have taught me so much about myself..that it is ok to look like Im having a stroke and still laugh at myself; that dancing is one of the most therapeutic things in the world; that even the best of you make mistakes; that we were all, at one time, in a bad place and with a little TLC, you can pull yourself up by the bootstraps, stand tall, and come out a better person; that there is a little freak in everyone. You ladies have been so inspirational. You show everyday that Zumba isnt a job, it is your life and your students are your hearts. I want to thank each and everyone who has touched my life and I know we will all be lifelong friends. It is time to let go and move on to the next adventure in my life! Take care, my loves!!!!!! And if any are in Asheville, or want to come, hit me up and we will paint the town!!!!!
