Just so everyone is aware: there are job postings on Indeed that are absolute scams. I applied to one through for a data entry clerk for United Healthcare. The site initially looked legit. But what weirded me out was the fact this employer wanted me to pay over $400 upfront for software to be installed on a laptop they were already going to provide. I had a promise they were going to reimburse me on the next paycheck. And it gets weirder: I had to go trough Western Union. I dont know about you...but the fact of giving some random stranger over $400 without getting to speak to them is a little fishy. I called United Healthcares HR Department to verify this job. The representative told me that it was a scam that has been going on for years. Vengeance is sweet because I got this employer back by getting the address for the western union money transfer. Interesting that when I mentioned the Attorney General, she immediately got offline. Point is: if its a nationally recognized company then all career options/jobs are posted on their companys website. So glad I did not fall for it. It sickens me to no end that these scammers do nothing but prey on innocent people. And it sickens me to know that some people may have fell for the scam. It was very convincing up until the money part. I was told I would be getting paid $30/hour for an ENTRY level data clerk position. That was my first red flag.
