Just some thoughts on Abbotts proposed changes to unemployment benefits. How will the fear of losing ones job, and having to live without income for six months, amidst harassment from Centrelink about making 40 job applications a month, impact on the workforce as a whole? I would hedge that this nightmarish scenario will have a deleterious impact on the workplace culture. People will be more frightened than ever of getting the sack. So might not peoples behaviour change in the workplace? Frankly, I see workplaces are becoming more stressful and toxic with office politics and increased anxiety.
