Just spent 2 hours with my wife, standing outside in the rain watching our neighbors house burn. Its probably a total loss. I was just going to bed and looked out the window and saw an orange light, but the closer I looked, I could see that it was flickering. I ran outside and saw other neighbors pounding on the door to wake them up. I called the fire dept., and for some reason, it took almost 10 minutes to arrive. It started in the next house down, a reputed crack house, and leapt to our neighbors house (both historic frame houses). They sprayed our house, but since its brick, we didnt worry too much. Everybody got out safely and the reputed crack house residents had left moments before I noticed the fire. We thank the Lord for His protection and solicit your prayers for our neighbors who are now being helped by the Red Cross.
