Just stumbled across news (somehow I missed out on an alumni email) that the seminary where I studied (Calvary Seminary) is closing after this academic year (May 2014). I am very thankful for the education along with the personal investment into my life and ministry preparation I received from Aug 1999 - May 2005 while studying for a MDiv, ThM, and serving as Library Director. It was while studying here that I met and married my wife (Mandy Fleener), all three of our children were born, and we found ourselves blessed with close friendships. Though I understand the need for their closing and am thankful for their commitment to fiscal and academic integrity, it does sadden me to know that an era (38 years, 500+ alumni, 100+ churches planted along the East Coast of the US, along with many other pastors/missionaries trained and set out) has come to a close. I pray the Lord will provide fruitful ministry for remaining faculty and staff along with smooth transitions for existing students into other institutions.
