Just think if all married couples in the United States followed this model: * A toilet is leaking. A car needs new tires to replace the bald ones. One child keeps getting kicked out of school for fighting, and another is flunking math. The couple is behind on paying the electricity bill. * The couple cant agree on what to do about those problems and others. One spouse suggests ways to pay for fixing the problems and which problems to tackle first. But the other spouse just complains about the problems, the size of their house, the gay neighbors, and how much everything costs to buy and maintain. * So the spouse that wants to do something about the problems tries to do some things that could help their situation. But the other spouse complains some more and threatens divorce. * And the children keep suffering.
