Just thinking out loud. . . Its more than a year already since the 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit Bohol and neighboring provinces in the Visayas. . . Its almost a year since Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) hit Tacloban, Samar and other neighboring provinces in the Visayas. . . Casualties in both major disasters is too much to count. . . Some Local Government Units are in full throttle with their capability build up both in training and equipage in preparation for the next major disater but despite these 2 major disasters hitting the Visayas last year there are still Local Government Units who have not come up with their disaster management plan. . . Some private companies and individuals are also into disaster preparedness so as not to be caught flat footed once another super typhoon or earthquake will hit the country. But there are private companies whose some of their employees are not taking disaster drills seriously to the point of saying that these drills are just a waste of their precious time. This incident does not only happen in private companies but likewise in government agencies and even in some military units in which disaster preparedness drills are not taken seriously by the personnel. . . When will we ever learn that preparing for the next major disaster is a very serious matter? Just thinking out loud.
