Just thought I would share :) Fitness And Sport For Children With Autism Ausome Fitness is coming to South East Queensland… ... There are several studies showing that exercise is not only good for our body but also good for our minds. Participating in group sports helps children learn how to work as a team and gain confidence in a skill. But team sports often present many challenges for kids with autism. The struggle to find appropriate exercise activities is common among parents who have children with Autism. Ausome fitness is a great program specifically designed for children with Autism. The idea behind Ausome fitness is to give adolescents with autism and their families an outlet for fun and fitness. It is a great chance for children with Autism to have ownership of a team, helping them build a sense of community in their lives. Ausome fitness is a well structured program focusing on each child, individually helping them reach their full potential. Each season will commence with individual fitness and skill building sessions. We work closely with the adolescents creating an environment of mutual trust whilst focusing on fundamental physical development and skill building. Being one on one, we are able to totally focus on the child, establishing a mutual set of rules and understanding. Once individuals have progressed through the program grasping a wide range of skill and game play knowledge they will be placed in a small group environment. The numbers will range from 3 to 5, depending on what is applicable for your child. Gradually we will introduce game play, giving each child an opportunity to experience the joy of being part of a sporting team.
