Just thought I would share about freezing coffee, as so many people ask. I would like to say buy small amounts often but I fully appreciate the economics of buying five pounds at a time to save on beans and shipping. Freezing is not the enemy. It is taking the beans in and out of the freezer that kills the taste (freezer burn-think ice cream!). So heres what I recommend. Divide your five pounder into five or more zip lock freezer bags. Take one out at a time and keep it in a ball jar or Tupperware until used up, then get the next one out. Coffee is made up of oil, water and solids (like my ex-wife), and each freezes at a different temp, so dont put a bag back in the freezer. Just use it up!
