Just thought I would share this, Check out the note below from Danielle Fanuri, Arcadia womens basketball team manager. She has been inspired by the recent press surrounding Lauren Hill. If interested in participating along with Arcadia on December 3, please contact Head Womens Basketball Coach Rose Katz for more information. In Danielles ideal plan, all MAC schools playing on 12/3 would support the cause. For those of you who have not heard of Lauren Hill, she is a 19-year old, Division III Women’s Basketball player at Division 3, Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lauren has become an inspiration throughout the basketball community because she is battling brain cancer, given only months to live. She had a dream that was recently fulfilled, that dream was to play in a college basketball game, where she scored four points. The Arcadia Women’s Basketball program decided to help out Lauren Hill and her cause by supporting The Cure Starts Now Foundation, which fights for the cure for other children with brainstem glioma and cancer survivors everywhere. Since Lauren Hill has become such an inspiration, the Arcadia Women’s Basketball program would love to extend an invitation to all of the women’s basketball teams in the Middle Atlantic Conference to once again honor this strong individual, Lauren Hill, who never gave up her dream and goal raise awareness for brain cancer. The event will be held during our double header on Wednesday, December 3rd and we invite you to do the same. To show our support, our team will be wearing gray shoelaces, the color that represents brain cancer, and also grey pre wrap. As for the coaches and managers, we will be wearing gray cancer ribbons. We will also be asking for everyone in attendance and those who can’t make it to make a donation to The Cure Starts Now Foundation. This invitation is also extended to the all Men’s Basketball teams as well. We hope that you would join us in raising awareness for brain cancer! Thank You, Danielle Funari
