Just thought Id share a little response email I sent to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee after getting a ton of emails with ridiculous fear-based email subjects: The reason I am not donating this time is because I got too many emails in the same day all with ridiculous titles making it sound like if I dont donate itll be the end of the world as we know it. Thats a ridiculous way to try and get donations, frankly it gets to be really annoying. Maybe you should try a more simple approach like Donate $25 today to help with XYZ not The sky is going to start falling down, and all volcanoes on Earth will erupt if you dont donate by tonights deadline! Then followed the next day with another ridiculously titled email asking for the same donation. Obviously, these deadlines dont matter. Maybe set up a membership for donations if you want to get $x from every person every so often. I am one more ridiculous email from unsubscribing from this and donating to the other team.
