Did you know the frontal lobe of the brain does not close until 23 and between the ages of 14-18 even the most well behaved kids make the DUMBEST choices they will make in their whole life bc they lack that DECISON making portion of their brain. (And I dont mean they cant make decisions. I mean then do t think in an if....then... pattern on a consistant basis. ) Now this doesnt excuse the behavior but doesnt mean the child is disrespectful or a bad child.....its means they are NORMAL. Reprimanding is necessary but I am a firm believer in PARENTS disciplining their OWN children. I also would want to know if it was my child so I could deal With it the way I FELT was best.
